You may remember previous "Chez moi" installments, such as
this one and
this one. Well, onward to the next!
This is my desk area. It's still very much a work in progress. I'd like to keep adding more framed photos to that wall and let it keep growing, but as of now it's still in its nascent stage. The desk itself I've had since high school - I bought it unfinished and dear ol' Dad stained it. (There's also a bureau and bookcases that match.) My room is a bit small, though, so there's no space for a chair. I bought a stool last year at Target but it's too high so most of the time I just use my bed. (The bed and desk are only about a foot and a half apart.)
Here's a close of up the ephemera. L.N. Fowler Phrenology skull was a Christmas gift from my parents; butterfly is from
Bug Under Glass. The trophy is a cross country award for "most dependable player" from my freshman year of high school. (Notice also the "get out of bed and go for a run" inspiration board of sorts in the left of the top photo.) There's more to the story of the trophy, but suffice it to say I had a really hard time when I first started running and I've kept the trophy as a reminder to always stick it out when things get difficult.
