Cheers to Toast

Just got my Toast catalogs in the mail today!  What does it say about the state of magazines that I'm just as excited for a catalog to be in my mailbox as I am a glossy?

Speaking of catalogs, do you read the sassy and smart Catalog Living blog?  It's so good.  And today, they announced there's a book in the works.  Can't wait!

Wear white, it's Memorial Day

Today means the unofficial start of summer and the reintroduction of white pants back into my wardrobe.  (But let's face it, does anyone really follow that "no white after Labor Day and before Memorial Day" rule anymore?)

Two years of blogging!

Happy birthday to my dear ol' blog -- it's been two years to the day since I published my first post about sailing style.  And while I think I'll always be drawn to the sea, these days I've been trying to keep my eyes on the horizon.  Thanks to all of you out there who are constantly inspiring me to keep exploring.

Wear it, stack it, hang it, paint it, or arrange it. Just make it your own.

{I'm going to eat popcorn for dinner to celebrate!}

Blog I love: Lucy Laucht

Street style blogger Lucy Laucht is my new girl crush.  Laucht's blog is a mix of style finds and fashion week coverage, but what keeps me coming back are the frequent posts showcasing her daily outfits. I am obsessed -- I adore everything she puts together and am fascinated by the creativity.  I never would have thought to put a striped shirt with a floral skirt and then Lucy does it and it makes sense and I think, "Hey I can do that too!"  I am swooning over her style -- a bit of vintage mixed with high and low-end finds, Laucht's look is classic meets bohemian, uptown girl with a little bit of beatnik prep.

Sailing poster: Tell me about it

This sail poster (via etsy) delightfully sums up my feelings toward housework and novel writing -- plus, it also kind of makes me giggle.  It's good to have a sense of humor about ourselves, isn't it?
