The keys to reinterpreting the look of the 1950s housewife for modern day are pretty simple: cinched in waists, ladylike patterns (like polka dots and gingham), skinny cropped pants, and of course, pearls. The update comes from the styling -- like mixing patterns in the first and fifth photos, lots of layering, and even topping a ladylike dress with a leather jacket.
